Frankie has finally made it to America! But what will he do now that he is there? America, as Frankie found out from the movies, the boat ride, and his first night in America, is quite different from Limerick. Frankie will have to adjust to a new climate, new people, new places, new freedoms, and new difficulties that are found in his new home. Frankie will probably be better off, as there are almost surely jobs for a skilled worker, but he will most likely have difficulty with fitting in at first, because he does not know anyone there, besides his two mean aunts and his old neighbors.
I am able to make these guesses based on the experiences I have had in the past with new schools and new places. It was a struggle for me to spend my first summer in Pasadena because I did not know anyone there (besides some friends of my dad), just like Frankie when he arrived in America. The same thing happened when I arrived in Singapore (where I spent a year). I can relate to a lot of what Frankie is going through because I have been in similar situations myself.
